| | ETHEL E. HIMMEL, Ph.D. Associate Consultant | Dr. Himmel's qualifications include 10 years of public library management and administration experience, three years of research experience, and for the past 12 years working with PROVIDENCE Associates Inc and her own firm, Himmel & Wilson Library Consultants. Her work with PROVIDENCE has been primarily in the areas of focus group leadership, peer analysis, and long-range planning. Ethel is Principal Partner of Himmel & Wilson, Library Consultants. Ethel and partner (and husband) Bill Wilson completed the new library planning process for the Public Library Association -- "PLANNING FOR RESULTS: A Library Transformation Process", published by the ALA. She and her partner have also co-written "The Functions and Roles of State Library Agencies", published by the American Library Association. She earned her Ph. D. from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Her MLS is from the State Univeristy of New York - Buffalo, and she has a BA from the University of Illinois. Dr. Himmel is currently serving as President, Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA). She was President of the Wisconsin Library Association in 1994. | |
